For Boosters and Friends of the PHS Red Pride Marching Band MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT How loud can you yell? It’s an important question, because Saturday’s contest is very important to the Plainfield High School band. It’s the first step on their journey to the RCA Dome. It’s not an easy journey and will take a lot of effort from everyone. About 40 percent of our band members are freshmen and new to the band competitions. Most of their parents are new to competitions, too.
Many of you wonder what you can do to help the band reach its goal. Mr. Roberts says that the key is cheering, cheering and more cheering! The kids on the field need your presence and support. They need to hear you cheer loudly and strongly. That pumps them up and gives them a boost, so they perform at their absolute best.
The more parents who are there, and the more signs and flags we have, the more energy our band will feel. Each time they succeed with a tough move, loud cheers tell them they’ve done a great job.
Please be there to support our kids – and please be one of the parents who helps to organize our cheering group. The harder we work, the harder they’ll work, and the more likely we’ll get to see them compete in the Dome! Suzanne
